XFX RX 590 Fatboy Review

XFX RX 590 Fatboy Testing:

3DMark:

3DMark: This iteration of Futuremark's popular 3DMark suite is designed to let a wider range of the user base make a comparative analysis of the gaming prowess of their systems from entry-level PCs, to notebooks, and extreme gaming PCs.

VRMark:

VRMark is a new test designed to see if your system is truly VR capable and to what extent those capabilities are. Featuring the Orange Room Test that validates that the system is capable of delivering the needed FPS levels to view through an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. The Blue Room test pushes the settings even higher with 5K textures so that you can see where the gaps are in your VR setup. Upcoming for 2018 is the Cyan Room test, a Direct X 12 VR Benchmark.

While not a gaming benchmark, the synthetic tests from UL are one of the standards by which systems and graphics cards are measured. In the 3DMark Time Spy test, the XFX RX 590 Fatboy is again delivering higher graphics performance in each of the tests. I would have liked to see results closer to those of the Vega 56 card rather than being so close to the RX 580.
