Thermaltake Suppressor F51 Review


Thermaltake Suppressor F51 Testing:

Testing involved recording temperatures for the CPU, GPU, and motherboard during idle and load phases. The load was simulated by running Prime95’s small FFTs and 3DMark Vantage for one hour. The maximum temperatures were recorded using HW Monitor 1.21.0. Please note that each case is tested from its factory setup, including location of fans, unless otherwise noted. All tests are conducted at 75 °F / 24 °C ambient room temperature.

The Noctua D14 is a great cooler and tends to turn out similar thermal numbers regardless of the case, so as expected we see temps in line with the other test cases. Even with the CPU under load, we get similar numbers. On the GPU end of the testing, again we don't see anything remarkable. I am using a reference video card, which means that it uses a blower type fan to pull in air from inside the case and exhaust hot air out the rear of the case. So as long as there is a decent supply of outside air, it is not surprising that the results are similar. A non-reference card that generally rejects heat into the case will likely cause the internal case temps to increase by a few degrees when there is a significant video load. The Suppressor F51 certainly has adequate air flow to keep your components cool.

Now the Suppressor F51 is all about keeping the sound to a minimum, and I will say that it does a good job. I cranked all the fans up to the maximum RPM and took a few steps back. It was hard to hear the fans. Then I took the sound deadening panels out of the top, and that really made a difference. So expect there to be a little more audible fan noise if you load the top of the case up with fans, but it is definitely nothing to complain about!
