Raidmax Narwhal Review

   -

Raidmax Narwhal Conclusion:

There are many case designs out there and the selection process can be somewhat overwhelming. You need a case, but a case is more than just a box for your system components. If you are building a system, especially a gaming system, you know that case selection is an important step in the process, and it is not just a random selection. You have to find the case with the right features, but it also has to have the right style and fit your budget. Maybe you are building an ITX case for a small home theater build? Or maybe a monster gaming system with LED fans everywhere! It certainly is not unusual for a gaming case to be a little flashy. The Narwhal from Raidmax is far from flashy, but it is right at home as a gaming case, or as a daily driver. It looks good either way.

So what makes this case stand out from all the others? The titanium finish certainly stands out and I like the modular hard drive cage that lets you go from the larger 3.5" drives to smaller 2.5" (SSD) drives. There is also the ability to use long (430mm) graphics cards. And your cooling options are open, too, since you can go with a larger air cooler, such as the Noctua D14, or you can go the liquid cooled route with a top-mounted radiator up to 240mm with dual 120mm fans. The two included case fans did a decent job of moving air through the case during the thermal testing and they were not loud. I will say that in a world of full side window cases, you become accustomed to having a full view of case internals, so I wouldn't mind a larger side window.

The Raidmax Narwhal is a nice case that won't break your budget. At around $89.99, you get a stylish, modern looking case that has room for an ATX motherboard, liquid cooling, and has a nice blue glow from the front fan. Need a case for your next build that is wallet-friendly? Looking for a case that still has room for optical drives? Check out the Raidmax Narwhal! Practicality never goes out of style.
