MSI RX 470 Gaming X 8G Testing:

Ashes of the Singularity:

Ashes of the Singularity is a massive, real-time strategy game on a grand scale. Developed by Oxide Games and Stardock Entertainment, Ashes of the Singularity runs on the new Nitrous engine, which enables thousands of units fighting it out on-screen. It uses DirectX 12, one of the first games to use the new API, and it helps provide even more detail to battles. Ashes of the Singularity recently came out of Early Access development, with more content added all the time to expand the world and its story.

3DMark: The just-released version of Futuremark's popular 3DMark suite is designed to let a wider range of the user base make a comparative analysis of the gaming prowess of their systems from entry level PCs, to notebooks, and extreme gaming PCs.

  • Sky Diver
  • Fire Strike
  • Fire Strike Extreme
  • Fire Strike Ultra

In Ashes of the Singularity, our second DirectX 12 game, MSI's RX 470 Gaming X 8G most closely compares with the GTX 970 at both 1920x1080 and 2560x1440. If you back the graphics preset down from the Extreme preset, the RX 470 should get to 60FPS. In 3DMark, again MSI's card most closely aligns with the performance delivered by the GTX 970. Overclocking adds additional performance in both these tests.
