MSI GTX 1050 Gaming X 2G Testing:

Far Cry Primal:

Far Cry Primal is yet another iteration of this action-adventure series set in the Stone Age, with Ubisoft Montreal developing and Ubisoft publishing. The story revolves around Takkar, who starts off as an unarmed hunter and rises to become the leader of a tribe. Vicious wild animals, a lush landscape, and enemy factions to deal with make this one unique experience. Much like Far Cry 3, Far Cry Primal uses the Dunia 2 game engine.

  • DirectX 11
  • Global settings = Ultra

Battlefield 4:

Battlefield 4 is a first-person shooter developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield 4 uses the Frostbite 3 game engine as a step up from the Frostbite 2 engine used in BF3. As the latest iteration of the Battlefield franchise, the graphics are improved. Following a set release cycle, Battlefield 4 was released for the PC in North America in October 2013, supporting DirectX 11 and now after multiple patches, AMD's Mantle API.

In Far Cry Primal, the GTX 1050 is bringing up the rear again, but what it does do is deliver playable FPS levels at 1920x1080. The same can be said of the Battlefield 4 performance. Quickly tuning the gaming performance to reduce the visual quality settings will pay dividends in FPS rates.
