Thermaltake LUXA2 GroovyA Wireless Speaker Review

Thermaltake LUX GroovyA Wireless Speaker Closer Look:

The speaker weighs 580 grams, which is about 1.27 lbs. It is rectuangular in shape and measures roughtly 8.75 inches long, 3.5 inches tall, and about 2.5 inches deep. The speaker case is plastic with a matte black finish. The front grille is made from a finely perforated metal that has a silver finish. The adjustable bracket is made from brushed aluminum that is painted black. There are two grey rubber feet on the bottom of the bracket. These keep the speaker from sliding around or scratching your table top. We will see how the bracket adjusts a little later.

The rear of the speaker has a data label in the lower left corner and at the upper right are the power switch, auxiliary jack, and USB charging port.

On top there are four control buttons, one LED bar, and a small microphone opening. The buttons function to control volume, previous and next track, play / pause / answer functions, and Bluetooth connect. The LED bar has three colors: red for charging, blue for Bluetooth connection, and green for fully charged.

The entire speaker can be adjusted to sit at three angles, which include 0°, 15°, and 30°. The indents firmly hold the speaker in position. The top two pictures show the 30° angle, while the bottom left picture shows the 15° angle, and the bottom right picture shows the speaker at the 0° angle.

The accessory bag is large enough to hold the entire speaker and also holds the owner's manual, USB charging cable, and (aux) speaker extension cable. The bag has a nice draw string to keep it closed and is made from a soft, stretch material that looks like leather on the outside.

The owner's manual is easy to follow and the first four pages are illustrated to show the functions and features. The next eight pages list the features in eight languages.

There is also a cool app that lets you control the speaker from your smart phone. You can control the volume and play music stored on your phone. In addition, there is a really nice Internet radio function that lets you listen to a wide variety of music, radio programs, talk radio, and sports. The app is easy to load from Google Play and I had no problems using it with my iPhone.
