Battlefield 4  is a first-person shooter developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield 4 uses the Frostbite 3 game engine as a step up from the Frostbite 2 engine used in BF3. As the successor to the Battlefield franchise the graphics are improved. Following a set release cycle, Battlefield 4 was released for the PC in North America in October 2013 supporting DirectX 11 and now after multiple patches AMD's Mantle API.

Many gamers look at 60 FPS as the starting point for smooth gameplay when running BF4. With all the eye candy on the Diamond R9 270X gets you to 40 FPS, leaving a ton of tweaking room to get that additional 20 FPS back by turning the eye candy down a bit.
