COUGAR 700K Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

COUGAR 700K Keyboard Software:

COUGAR seems to be standardizing its software for products with the UIX design. It allows for multiple pieces of COUGAR gear to talk to the same software interface. The 700K keyboard interface, although similar to the 600K, has specific pictures and changes for the 700K.

The PERFORMANCE tab allows for the usual changes in polling rate, n-key rollover, repeat delay, and control over the profile switches. Here you can also play with the backlight mode, which, when "sleeping," does different patterns across the keyboard. This includes a sweep left to right, top to bottom, and some waves across the keyboard, as well.

The KEY ASSIGNEMENT tab allows you to assign keys! No freaking way. You can drag and drop much like we saw with the 600K. I configured a simple space command with effortful setting of macros for a literal "space" for the G6 key so that I could type normal, or should I say "normal."

The LIGHTING CONTROL tab allows you to do just that – play with the lighting. Here you can turn off or on whatever key you like. Each key can be turned on or off. You can also change what the sun key can change between with simple check boxes. The UIX software really seems to be universal and intuitive. Easy and relatively quick to apply changes, too.
