Fractal Design has been busy as it is releasing four new products; a high airflow case, two 180 mm fans for when you really want to move some air, and new Ion+ 2 Platinum PSU. The best part is Chris has had hands-on time and produced videos for you to see what he thinks of them.

The new case is the Torrent and it sports a pair of the new 180 mm fans at the front pulling air in, and there are another three 140 mm fans, all PWM controlled. If that is, somehow, not enough airflow, two of the 140 mm fans can be replaced with 180 mm fans. The front and bottom intakes can both use included nylon filters to keep out dust, or increase airflow if you choose to remove them. The Torrent comes with the Nexus 9P Slim PWM fan hub already installed to help manage them and the LEDs in the case and fans can be controlled with motherboards offering a 3-pin 5 V RGB header. The case also includes a GPU support bracket to keep your graphics card level, with some user assembly required.

For those wondering about watercooling support, the front and bottom panels can house extra-thick radiators up to 420 mm long and with a push-pull fan configuration. The motherboard tray also has integrated support for a water-cooling reservoir. Speaking of the motherboard, the case can hold up to E-ATX and SSI-EEB boards for even the most massive and feature-rich builds. The maximum length for a graphics card is 423 mm with the front fan installed or 461 mm without it. Another advantage separate from airflow with having 180 mm fans is the case is wide enough to allow for a CPU cooler as tall as 188 mm, if your preference is for air coolers. As for storage capabilities, there are four 2.5 in drive mounts and two 3.5 in drive mounts, all included with the case. The front panel sports one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port and a pair of USB 3.0 ports, along with the standard HD audio connections.

There are multiple versions of the Torrent, available in black, gray, white, and with different fans installed. The pricing ranges from $179.99 for the Torrent Black Solid to $239.99 for the Black RGB TG (tempered glass) Light Tint. The TG versions also have an aerodynamic PSU shroud with integrated ARGB effects. You can check out Chris' video on the case here: Check out the new Torrent from Fractal Design!.

The two new 180 mm fans are the Dynamic and Prisma with the latter featuring RGB LEDs. These are the new 180 mm fans used in the Torrent and are 38 mm thick, all designed to optimize airflow without letting noise go out of control. Though included with the Torrent, these will be available separately for those wanting to upgrade the fans in that case or have another that feature the 165 x 165 mm screw hole pattern. To help keep them quiet, the corners are synthetic rubber to reduce vibrations and the long-life sleeve bearing should keep the fan spinning for a long time. Chris' video on the Prisma fans is right here: OCC checks out the new Prisma AL-18 PWM ARGB 180mm fans!.

Lastly we have the Ion+ 2 Platinum fully modular power supply that was designed to build upon the success of the original Ion Platinum. Among the changes that arrived with this new version is ATX 2.52 support, the inclusion of two 8-pin ATX12/EPS connections for the family of products, and stricter over-current protection within the PSU. It also features a semi-passive mode so the 140 mm fan stops when the load is low enough. Chris got to look at the 860 W version here: OCC checks out the new Ion+ 2 860W Power Supply from Fractal Design!. There are also 760 W, 660 W, and 560 W versions, if your power needs are more modest.
