Today CD Projekt Red released both the launch version of GWENT on the PC and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. Initially GWENT was a mini-game contained within The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but later a standalone version was released as a beta, which showed a greater interest by gamers than the developer expected. Now it is finally out of beta and receiving the Homecoming update that includes redesigned elements to address player feedback, but still the changes are so significant, a website to show what is new was put together: playgwent.com/en/updates/homecoming. To celebrate the end of the public beta, all those who participated will receive a commemorative player title and a Launch Celebration Pack, though the latter is only available for a limited time.

Also released today is Thronebreaker: The Wticher Tales, which was going to be part of GWENT, but the developers then felt it would be best to make it its own adventure. In this RPG, the players follow Eve, a war-veteran queen now facing a Nilfgaardian invasion. It will use the same combat system as GWENT over its some 30 hour story with over 75 side quests. While the PC launch is today, its Xbox One and PlayStation 4 releases will be on December 4.
