If you have a copy of XCOM 2: War of the Chosen on PC, you are going to get a nice gift come October 9 as the Tactical Legacy Pack will be available for free. This new DLC tells the story of what happened betweenXCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2 but also adds new game modes, maps, weapons, armor, and Photobooth options too.

These new game modes are Legacy Ops and Skirmish Mode. With Legacy Ops you will be commanding a squad through linked consecutive missions. Central's Archives takes you through the operations that followed the fall of XCOM headquarters to the rise of the resistance. Resistance Archives will challenge you as the series of missions become more and more difficult. Skirmish Mode lets you create your own tactical missions using the included editor that allows you to modify various settings, including map, loadouts, objective, and enemies.

The DLC also brings with it 28 new maps, including some remastered maps from XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM: Enemy Within. These maps will used in Central's Archives. The new weapons and armor include reimagined versions of the laser and plasma weapons, Kevlar, Carapace, and Titan armor from XCOM: Enemy Unknown. You will also get to customize your soldiers with new attitudes and helmets, and new images in the Photobooth. Also coming is a Soundtrack Selector, so you can play with the XCOM 2: War of the Chosen campaign with its current music, the XCOM: Enemy Unknown score, or a new soundtrack inspired by the music from the original X-COM: UFO Defense.

If you do not currently have a copy of XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, you can still get the Tactical Legacy Pack for free as that offer runs until December 3. After that, it will be available for a suggested price of $7.99.
