Next month Red Dead Redemption 2 will release for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and with luck we will see it announced for PC before long as well. In any case, Rockstar has put up a page introducing us to a number of the locations players will be visiting in the game with pictures and brief descriptions. These include Valentine, a rough-and-tumble town with livestock auctions that bring all manner of people to it looking for money and a good time. Annesburg is another town to visit and perhaps help the miners who lead hard lives on the little pay they earn bringing up coal from the pit. Saint Denis lies on a major trade route, so you will find many more cultures and classes here, from laborers and beggars to businessmen and socialites. Rhodes wishes it were as impressive, being prim and proper on the surface but filled with corruption and tensions below thanks to the Braithwaites and Grays, feuding plantation families. Strawberry, a logging town has a new mayor, hoping to make it a cultural beacon to bring in wealthy tourists. Among the snow-covered peaks of the Grizzlies of Ambarino is Mount Hagen that stands over Lake Isabela and Beartooth Beck, the main pass through to mountain range to meet the Dakota River. Finally, in Lagras the people take care of themselves largely, making little money from fishing and serving as guides for travelers.

Red Dead Redemption 2 releases October 26.
