The Division just hit its second birthday, something the developers are celebrating with special events, and now we have news fan of the game might be even more interested in. The Division Development Team has posted on Ubisoft's news site that Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is being worked on. Massive Entertainment is leading the development in collaboration with a number of other Ubisoft studios (Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Bucharest) and will be using an updated version of the Snowdrop engine used in the current game. The developers are taking everything they have learned to make Snowdrop a better engine to realize their ambitions, and to make a sequel the playerbase will want to play.

Development on The Division is not going to stop, at least not for the time being, as Massive wants to keep bringing title updates with new Global Events, Xbox One X enhancements, and more. Also coming to The Division will be a new class of achievements called Shields. By earning them you will be unlocking special rewards in the sequel when it launches.

While there is no statement on when we might expect The Division 2 to launch, there will be a showing at E3 2018 of what is to come.
