Post-Launch Plans Revealed for Far Cry 5

A month ago we got information on the season pass DLC for Far Cry 5 and today more post-launch details have been revealed, including the game's free content. Previous Far Cry games have come with a map editor, allowing players to build new challenges for themselves and others, but this has developed into the Far Cry Arcade. Not only will you have access to Far Cry 5 assets for your creations, but also assets from previous Far Cry games, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed Unity, and Watch_Dogs. These assets can be used to build solo, co-op, and PvP multiplayer experiences.

If you are not interested in the Far Cry Arcade, Far Cry 5 will also have Live Events that will reward players with new customization items, including unique skins for vehicles and weapons.

All of that will come for free, but for those who purchase the season pass or Gold Edition of the game, you will receive the three expansions: Hours of Darkness; Lost on Mars; and Dead Living Zombies. The first will take you back in time to Vietnam as you fight the Viet Cong to save fellow soldiers. The second will leave Earth behind you as you fight Martian arachnids to save your home planet from an alien invasion. The third pits you against hordes of zombies while a B-movie director watches on and develop seven different scenarios. Also, for those of you who purchase the game and season pass on console, you will get Far Cry 3 Classic Edition four weeks ahead of its standalone release. Those of us on PC will also receive Far Cry 3 but at a date following the launch of Far Cry 5.
