Google Might Be Developing Game Streaming Service and Possibly an Associated Console

While there are some video game streaming services out there, their presence seems to be somewhat marginal and discs and downloaded installs dominate. Despite the nascent state of the services, there is a rumor Google might be developing its own solution, bringing game streaming to Chromecast and potentially a Google-made console. Supposedly this service, codenamed Yeti, is already functional on Chromecast, though Yeti was still in an early form at the time. The original intent was for Yeti to be used on Chromecast streaming devices with a Yeti hardware controller, while the idea of console being a more recent addition. The company's plans have been shared with some top-tier developers, according to the rumor, to see about getting existing games brought to Yeti or having new games developed for the service.

While this may sound unrealistic, Google did recently hire Phil Harrison, a form PlayStation and Xbox executive, so they do have someone with console experience among their ranks now.
