Originally released in 2016, Ashes of the Singularity has continued to be developed as it became Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation and has now gotten its largest DLC to date. The Secret Missions DLC adds a new frigate to the Substrate and PHC along with eight new scenarios and eight new maps. Some of these maps have been designed to support 5v5, 6v6, and even 7v7 skirmishes if you want to get 14-player matches going.

The two frigates are the PHC Atlas, an anti-air, anti-drone frigate that is a cheaper option than the Apollo cruiser. It might be less powerful than the Apollo, but as it does not require radioactives to build, it is also less expensive. The Substrate is getting the Tormentor, an artillery frigate that can saturate an area with shells. It lacks accuracy and single-target damage, but is still very powerful against groups of units; more so than against structures. The DLC costs $3.99 at both Stardock and Steam.

Along with Secret Missions, the game is also getting the free v2.7 patch. Its changes include audio tweaks, rebalancing of maps, and fixes to targeting issues.
