The Division Receives Update 1.8 and Free Weekend

Though it launched early last year, Tom Clancy's The Division has continued to see support and updates from Ubisoft, including the release today of Update 1.8 "Resistance." Though free, this update adds the West Side Pier, a new area to the map for everyone to enjoy. This new area will be home to the activities already available across the game's map and two new game modes. Resistance is a PvE mode that has the different factions team up against Division agents, who have to survive wave after wave of enemies. Skirmish is a PvP mode in which two competing four-player teams see which can score the higher number of kills within the time limit. Other changes the update brings with it include a new social hub, improvements to the Underground DLC, rogue mechanics being revamped, and an optimization to the gear system, allowing players to upgrade equipment.

If you are interested in The Division, from December 7 to December 10, it is free to play on all platforms. Those who already own the game are getting some attention too, as from today to December 10 the expansions from the Season Pass, Underground, Survival, and Last Stand, will be available to play. Those enjoying the free weekend will also have access to these expansions.
