Assassin's Creed Origin to Feature Discovery Tour for Exploring Ancient Egypt

Historical fiction works, like the Assassin's Creed series of games, allow you to visit a completely different time, and while some of what is presented to you is fictitious, there remains some truth to what you discover. With Assassin's Creed Origins, however, Ubisoft is adding Discovery Tour, a feature that will allow you to explore Ancient Egypt without the concern of combat or story progress. Guided tours, curated by historians and Egyptologists, will allow the player to learn about the real history of the game's setting.

It may or may not surprise you that such an educational mode is actually something that was requested by teachers and institutions, so Discovery Tour is meant as an educative mode as it will present actual facts to the player. Subjects such as the Great Pyramids, Cleopatra, mummification and more will be covered in this mode, and without the game progression to be concerned with, players can also explore the re-created landscapes of Memphis, Alexandria, the Sand Sea, and the Giza Plateau as they wish.

Assassin's Creed Origins launches on October 27 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 but Discovery Tour will come as a free update in early 2018.
