Some months ago, Microsoft announced the coming of Windows Mixed Reality headsets from multiple manufacturers. These headsets are meant to help make virtual reality more accessible to people, with lower price tags and simpler technologies. Now some more details have been revealed at IFA, including that the headsets will support VR content on Steam.

Headsets and motion controllers from HP, Lenovo, Dell, and Acer should be available at holiday time starting as low as $399, bringing them in under both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Unlike these two already-available headsets, these new Windows Mixed Reality headsets use built-in sensors for tracking position, instead of external sensors, allowing for a plug-and-play experience.
