Intel is changing things up a bit with the unveiling of its Skull Canyon Gaming NUC, a small form-factor desktop that is aimed at delivering sub-1080p gaming while consuming very little power and physical space. The latest product from Intel, codenamed NUC6i7KYK, comes with an impressive Core i7-6770HQ that runs at speeds between 2.6GHz and 3.5GHz and features HyperThreading, 6MB of L3 cache, 128MB of L4 cache, and Intel Iris Pro Graphics 580. The integrated graphics on the Core i7-6770HQ runs with a core clock speed of 950MHz and offers gamers with 576 execution units, 72 TMUs, and 9 ROPs. The Intel Skull Canyon Gaming NUC even features a 40Gb per second Thunderbolt 3 port that makes it compatible with external graphics solutions, such as the Razer Core, if consumers long for additional GPU horsepower.

The barebones model of the Intel Skull Canyon Gaming NUC is priced at $650. An upgraded model that comes with 16GB of dual-channel DDR4-2133 memory, 256GB SSD storage, and Windows 10 pre-installed will cost consumers $999.
