As you read the OCC E3 2012 Awards, you will no doubt have noticed my interest in Dishonored. In fact, I even named it Best Action-Adventure and Game of the Show, and with good reason. You play an assassin wrongly accused of murdering the Empress you were sworn to protect. Dishonored is set in a Victorian-styled city that is full of advanced technology and features a pretty unique art style. One of the questions facing Dishonored, and in fact any game in development, is just how long it will last. There are some games that are so short as to not even bother, and then others that you can get lost in for hours. Luckily, Dishonored falls on the longer side as Arkane Studios has revealed a roughly 13 hour length straight through but nearly double if you explore every possible part. So, 13 to 26 hours in Dishonored? I can live with that and I am sure many others can as well.
Arkane also showed off the world map for Dishonored and it is rather large. The game takes place in the city of Dunwall on the island of Gristol in The Isles, but that is just a small part of the larger game world. There are several other islands that make up The Isles, but altogether those are only a fraction of the larger Pandyssian Continent. That land does not have any cities marked on it, so it is anyone's guess as to what awaits us there. We may be able to explore it in Dishonored or (hopefully) in a future game. Either way, October 9th better get here fast.
