1440p Gaming Build Guide:

The build lists below are a starting point for 2560x1440 resolution gaming. As always, your frames per second (FPS) will be game dependent, but this a good starting point as a beefier video card is required, which in turn costs more money. Video cards with 4GB of memory may struggle with all the settings on Ultra. An easy solution is to lower the texture quality as to keep it under 4GB. Not all games will run at 60 FPS with a resolution of 1440p, however.

With some tweaking, these builds have great upgrade paths and generally only need a more powerful video card, as overclocking the CPU is fully supported and is almost expected to get the best value for your money.

On a side note, I choose the Thermaltake NiC C5 cooler because of its high cooling performance, but due to it being made prior to the AMD AM4 socket, you will have to get the mounting bracket from Thermaltake's website. It's a hassle, I know, but the cooler is worth every penny and then some for its cooling capabilities and price point.
