XFX R9 380X DD XXX OC Testing:

Battlefield 4:

Battlefield 4 is a first-person shooter developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield 4 uses the Frostbite 3 game engine as a step up from the Frostbite 2 engine used in BF3. As the successor to the Battlefield franchise the graphics are improved. Following a set release cycle, Battlefield 4 was released for the PC in North America in October 2013 supporting DirectX 11 and now after multiple patches AMD's Mantle API.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the final chapter of Geralt of Rivia's story, taking him to the Northern Realms on a more personal mission. Developed by CD Projekt RED and powered by REDengine 3, this RPG features an engrossing story and a wealth of discoveries across a diverse landscape, full of monsters, bandits, and jaw-dropping vistas.

In Battlefield 4, the GTX 960 has a healthy performance margin over the R9 380X that carries through both resolutions. Overclocking does not help close the gap between the R9 380X and GTX 960 in this case. The R9 380 overclocks very well and jumps ahead of the R9 380X by a couple FPS with the margin smaller at 2560 x 1440 than at 1920 x 1080.

In Assassin's Creed Unity, I see the R9 380X outperforming the GTX 960 and R9 380 in both resolutions, stock and overclocked. Looking at the Witcher 3 results I see the same type of performance from the R9 380X.
