Synology DiskStation DS1515+ NAS: Control Panel

The System section is where you get all your current info and set up the general regional, UI, and notification settings. You can also view the current status, disk usage for each volume, and what services are enabled. If you are using the DS1515+ for corporate settings or you just want to get creative, you can customize the login page for your needs, including adding a logo and business information. Here is where you also set up the language preferences; notification settings such as SMS, syslog, or email; and the power options, for example, Wake on LAN (WOL) support. Finally, you have the update section that auto checks for updates, or you can manually update to the latest DSM, which you can see me doing in the final image below.

The last menu section in the Control Panel is the Applications section. In this section, you can set up and enable the Web Applications, Internal Web Server, setup application permissions for the FTP, WebDAV, etc., and enable the SSH/Telnet access to the Synology DS1515+ NAS unit.

Now that we have taken a look at the Control Panel, let's switch gears and look at the Start Menu.
