IOMeter is an I/O subsystem measurement and characterization tool for single and clustered systems. It was originally developed by the Intel Corporation and announced at the Intel Developers Forum (IDF) on February 17, 1998. In the IO Meter tests, the SSD performs above the level of the 3TB Barracuda, as it should. All the mechanical drives perform in a slim envelope. The 3TB drive does perform worse than the field in the average and max I/O response time.
