Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX Case Testing:

Testing the thermal performance of the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX chassis will involve recording temperatures for the CPU, GPU, and motherboard during idle and load phases. The load was simulated by running Prime95’s small FFTs and Unigine Heaven 4.0 benchmark for one hour. The maximum temperatures were recorded using MSI Afterburner for the GPU temperatures and Real Temp to record the CPU idle and load temperatures. Please note that each case is tested in the factory configuration, including the stock location of the included system fans, unless otherwise noted.

Testing Setup:

  • Processor: Core i7 4790K @ 4.4 GHz
  • CPU Cooling: Corsair H90
  • Motherboard: ASUS Z97I
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2666Mhz
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GTX TitanX
  • Power Supply: Thermaltake SMART 750W SP-750P
  • Hard Drive: HyperX Savage 240GB
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit
  • Chassis: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX

Comparison Cases:

  • Fractal Node 304

Surprisingly, the results for the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX chassis were not significantly better than the results delivered by the Fractal Node 304. The large 200mm fan did push a ton of air through the chassis to keep the components cool. However, this large mass of airflow turning over did not impact the results. That being said, there is a lot of potential for a custom liquid cooling setup that should allow the end user to close that gap.
