Power Color X1650 Pro Golden Pig Edition

Former staff writer    -   April 15, 2007

Conclusion:

I would have to conclude that as a mainstream video card you are getting what you should expect, performance wise. Power Colors reasoning for rebirthing this card is truly for the purposes of commemorating 2007 for it being the “Year of the Pig” or in the United States it is known as the year of the “Boar”. The video card is worth the expense and will perform well enough to play most all of today’s high demanding games. I found that the fan on the heatsink was very quiet, even while gaming where the temperatures can increase significantly, the heatsink fan remained virtually noiseless. Unfortunately, I could not get any significant overclock out of this card, seems that it’s not supported by any tool, but with its stock clock speeds it is more than enough for an average gamer.

Pros:

  • Price
  • Cross Fire Enabled
  • Great Value for the Mainstream Market

Cons:

  • Did not do well in COD 2
  • Nearing the end of its run
