What's small, black, able to fit in your pocket and can hold a plethora of information? The OCZ Mini-Kart USB Flash Drive. It even comes with an attached ring so you can put it on your key chain. I have to admit this is the smallest flash drive I have ever laid eyes on and since I have computers in three different locations the fact that this storage device can hold 1 GB of information and fit in my pocket is a plus. Now I don't have to worry about burning a CD just to upload or download files from one computer to another.
Established in 2000, OCZ Technology was built around the determination to manufacture the best high speed DDR and RDRAM. OCZ was founded by computer enthusiasts and their commitment to the end-user has not digressed. OCZ Technology was the first manufacturer to make Dual Channel optimized memory available to the public, which originally took advantage of nVidia's Twinbank or Dual DDR architecture, found in their nForce chipset. OCZ developed and was the first to implement ULN technology, which has been a critical element in their manufacturing process for some time.
The Mini-Kart drive we received from OCZ is their USB 2.0, 1 GB model. As you will see it is quite small and can easily be placed on your key chain so you'll have it wherever you may go.
As you can see from the packaging this drive is ultra slim and utilizes USB 2.0. I also like the fact that it comes with a 3-year warranty. With that said lets open the package and take a look at the product itself.
The drive comes protected in a small plastic box that opens quite easily by opening the tab on the front.
The drive is firmly secured by 4 inner plastic tabs and the key chain lanyard is already attached. Once pulled out of its plastic case this drive is not much bigger than a quarter.
This drive comes with no software included. So lets see if the Mini-Kart is truly plug and play compatible.
