Noctua NF-A9, NF-A8, NF-A4 Features:

  • Succeeding the award-winning B9: Noctua’s NF-B9 fan has become a default-choice among PC enthusiasts looking for a premium quality quiet 92mm fan. Thanks to its thoroughgoing aerodynamic optimisations, the NF-A9 provides higher static pressure and an even better airflow/noise ratio than its much acclaimed predecessor.
  • Succeeding the award-winning R8: Noctua’s NF-R8 fan has become a default-choice among PC enthusiasts looking for a premium quality quiet 80mm fan. Thanks to its thoroughgoing aerodynamic optimisations, the NF-A8 provides higher static pressure and an even better airflow/noise ratio than its much acclaimed predecessor.
  • Flow Acceleration Channels: (All Fans) The NF-A9 (NF-A8 and NF-A4) impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.
  • AAO Frame: (All Fans) Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua’s proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan’s performance/noise efficiency.
  • Stepped Inlet Design: (All Fans) Noctua’s Stepped Inlet Design adds turbulence to the influx in order to facilitate the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow, which reduces tonal intake noise, improves flow attachment and increases suction capacity, especially in space restricted environments.
  • Inner Surface Microstructures: (All Fans) With the tips of the fan blades ploughing through the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which results in reduced blade passing noise and improved airflow and pressure efficiency.
  • Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads: (All Fans) Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads made from extra-soft silicone minimise the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard screws and other mounting systems.
  • SSO2 Bearing: (All Fans) The NF-A9 (and Nf-A8) features the further optimised second generation of Noctua’s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
  • Custom designed PWM IC with SCD: (All PWM Fans) Supporting fully automatic PWM speed control, the NF-A9 (and NF-A8) PWM uses Noctua’s novel, custom designed NE-FD1 PWM IC that integrates Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology. By providing smoother torque impulses, SCD suppresses PWM switching noises and thus makes the fan quieter at low speeds
  • Low-Noise Adapter: (All PWM Fans)The NF-A9 (and NF-A8) PWM is supplied with a Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A.) that reduces the maximum fan speed from 2000 to 1550rpm (2200 to 1750rpm for NF-A8). The L.N.A can be used either to run the fan at a fixed speed of 1550rpm (1750rpm for NF-A8) or to cap the maximum speed when using automatic PWM control.
  • Smooth Commutation Drive 2: (All non-PWM Fans) The latest version of Noctua’s advanced Smooth Commutation Drive system ensures superb running smoothness by eliminating torque variations and switching noises. This makes the NF-A9 (and NF-A8) remarkably quiet even at very close distance.
  • 3 speed settings for full flexibility: (All FLX Fans) Providing 1600 (2000 for NF-A8), 1250 (1650 for NF-A8) and 1050 (1200 for NF-A8) rpm speed settings via the supplied Low-Noise and Ultra-Low-Noise Adapters, the NF-A9 (and NF-A8) FLX (Flexibility) can be fine-tuned for superior airflow or maximum quietness
  • 2 speed settings for maximum quietness: (ULN Fan) Providing 1400 and 1100 rpm speed settings via the supplied adapter, the ULN (Ultra-Low-Noise) version is tailor made for serious silent enthusiasts who demand super-slow running speeds and utmost quietness of operation.
  • Extensive Cabling Options: (All Fans) The fan’s short 20cm primary cable minimises cable clutter in typical applications while the supplied 30cm extension provides extended reach when necessary. Both cables are fully sleeved and (for the PWM fans only) a 4-pin y-cable allows to connect a second NF-A9 (and NF-A8) PWM fan to the same PWM fan header for automatic control.
  • 5V version: (NF-A4 only) Many devices such as network or storage solutions use 5 volt 40mm fans. With the same operating voltage and the included OmniJoin™ adaptor set that makes it compatible with proprietary fan headers, the NF-A4x10 5V is ideal for replacing noisy or broken 5V 40mm fans.
  • Reduced Motor Hub Size: (NF-A4 only) Thanks to its streamlined, compact motor design, the NF-A4x10’s motor hub is smaller than with conventional 4cm fans. This allows for more blade surface area and thus contributes to the NF-A4x10’s superior airflow and pressure performance.
  • 3 to 2-pin Adaptor and Polarity Protection: (NF-A4 only) The NF-A4x10 comes with an adaptor from 3-pin Molex to the 2-pin connectors used on many graphics cards or network and storage devices. An integrated diode provides polarity protection on 2-pin connections.
  • OmniJoin Adaptor Set: (NF-A4 only) Many devices featuring 40mm fans use proprietary fan headers, so the NF-A4x10 comes with Noctua’s OmniJoin Adaptor Set. Just cut the original fan’s cable, fix it to the adaptor using the supplied 3M Scotchlok™ connectors and you can plug the NF-A4x10 to proprietary fan headers!
  • 6 years manufacturer’s warranty: (All Fans) Noctua fans are renowned for their impeccable quality and outstanding longevity. Like all Noctua fans, the NF-A9 (NF-A8 and NF-A4) features an MTBF rating of more than 150.000 hours and comes with a full 6 years manufacturer’s warranty.
