MSI GTX 1080 & GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G Testing:

Fallout 4:

Bethesda Game Studio's latest Fallout game, Fallout 4, takes us to post-apocalyptic Boston in the year 2287. This first or third-person RPG sees our created character explore the area, take on quests, build settlements, and unravel a long story with plenty of twists and turns. Fallout 4 runs on a modified version of the Creation Engine, the same that powers The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Settings:

  • Ultra Preset
  • Adjust advanced settings to Max

Grand Theft Auto V:

Take a trip back to San Andreas and Blaine County in Grand Theft Auto V, the latest entry in the long-running series. Developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, the game runs on the RAGE engine with help from Euphoria and Bullet. In GTA V, we get three distinct criminals to control throughout a story with different twists and turns that has us upping the ante in each outing. Or just stealing cars and blowing up a lot of stuff. Your choice, really.

Settings:

  • MSAA  4x
  • Very High settings

The results in this first set of tests hows just what kind of secret sauce MSI puts under the lid of the Twin Frozr-equipped GTX 1080 and 1070 Gaming X 8G video cards. In each of the tests, the baseline clock speeds allow these cards to deliver excellent results above those of the Founders Edition cards.
