To test the performance of the mouse, I changed settings and of course played my favorite games. Since I can’t find another left-handed mouse to compare it to, I just decided to conduct my test of feel and how I would rate its performance.
The comfort level of the mouse is amazing, my hand fits perfectly around it and the button placements are in the perfect positions. I never had a need to look down at the mouse to see exactly where they were. The mouse glided smoothly over my mouse pad and on a bare desk, I was also quite satisfied that the transfer rate was instantaneous; since this is a cordless mouse I figured there would be some noticeable lag. I like the fact that I was able to open my email and my instant messenger right from the mouse without having to use the keyboard, this made multitasking effortless. Although the mouse won’t bring up my favorite media player, it was very useful in controlling the volume of my system, while testing I had to answer the phone multiple times and the mute button worked perfectly.
Now on to the gaming, ok, just the fact that all my buttons are in the right spots was an instant plus, but I would truly say that if you are a serious gamer, the performance is not quite as good as a true gaming mouse. I did notice a little ghosting and turning etc, was a little sluggish. As for firing and switching between guns, I had no problems. I will say this, I have used other cordless gaming mouse and haven’t liked them too much either, I still believe that being hard wired is you best choice when gaming. I hope Logitech would develop a left-handed gaming mouse with a cord of course.
Overall the comfort was amazing I have found my everyday mouse. Why? because it fits and performs how I would expect a left-handed mouse to. I was able to game, and perform many other functions with just a click.
So to pick up where I left off, why are “Lefties” discriminated against? It is a known fact that left handed people are more creative, imaginative, they are usually more visual and fixed on details. Is this why so many artists, musicians, philosophers and politicians have become famous? Just to mention a few famous left-handers, George W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Ronald Regan, Bill Clinton, Leonardo DaVinci, Raphael, Michaelangelo, Alexander the Great, Phil Collins, Jimi Hendrix, Ty Cobb, Albert Einstein, these are just a few of the many who have impacted our lives, so with all this talent why do “Lefties” still have to become ambidextrous just to fit in?
The Logitech MX610 Left-Handed mouse performs and is what I consider a wonderful idea, not many “Lefties” know that this mouse even exists. Someone is finally recognizing the potential of a left-handed market (Logitech), so since they have chosen to support the minority, we need to support them. Combine the great price and great feel of a true left-handed mouse, and this is one mouse that lefties around the world should definitely go out and buy
