Introduction:

Aren’t you thrilled that you are approximately 8 to 15 percent of the population? I know that I am. There is one problem with being in that minority, either you have to adjust to what the majority is, or you're out of luck. Then there's also the cost of being different, yes cost. You're probably thinking "What is he talking about?" I’m talking about being left-handed; lefties have had to deal with their individuality and being discriminated against since the beginning of time.

In many languages, the left side is considered the sinister side. For example in Italian to say, “He writes with his left hand.” would be “Scrive con la mano sinistra.” So if a child was found to be left handed they were forced to learn to write and complete common everyday tasks with their right hand.

I’m only 41 years of age and when I first started school (Catholic) the nuns tried to force me to become right handed. Luckily my mother stopped it, but it did cause some tension. Back in Medieval times, a left handed person was considered possessed. So for all this discrimination and having to accommodate a right handed world, what do us lefties get? Normally, there is no alternative. We have to adapt to everyday items that are made for right handed people. Thankfully, there are some left-handed products out there, and they usually cost two to three times the price of their right-handed counterparts.

All this does is prove that left-handed people are being discriminated against because we are the minority in a right-handed world. After tons of searching I’ve finally found a product that is made for left-handed people it is the Logitech MX 610 Left-Hand Cordless Laser Mouse. That’s right left-handed, finally someone has listened.
