HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro Gaming Headset Conclusion:

So now with all the testing completed, what can I say about the HyperX Cloud Alpha? Well for one, I can say this has become my daily go-to headset for not only gaming and such on my PC, but also for use with my mobile devices, such as my phone and iPad Pro. These little things have a lot of sound for the price, which by the way, is only $99 at the time of this review – a steal. The in-line controls are simple and intuitive, the sound is amazing with rich bass and crystal clear mids and highs, and the comfort – well, the comfort is my favorite part. The use of the aluminum frame was a great move by Kingston and the padding is so soft that I do not get fatigue in my ears or neck like I have with other headsets.

For me, the audio quality was very precise and was a clear as if I were using my home surround sound. While the headset is only stereo and not 7.1 surround, I still felt like I was immersed in the audio whether it was a song, movie or game. I have noticed with a lot of headsets the audio is either too loud or too soft, but with the HyperX Cloud Alpha, it was just enough without being too overpowering. Setup was a breeze, as there are only two jacks and the rest is controlled by the computer and OS themselves. I really liked having a removable boom mic as well, since it allowed me to use it for non-computer consumption without having something sticking out in my face and getting in the way. During my testing, I did not notice any distortion with the audio on my end. In voice chat programs, users did sometimes report hearing feedback, but it was minimal and I believe that was due to the cups not being seated around my ear properly, allowing noise to escape. When properly seated, they do not hear a thing.

All in all, this headset is my new favorite headset and is at the top of my list. If you are looking for a solid daily driver and want to have the flexibility to use it with multiple devices, then I cannot recommend the HyperX Cloud Alpha enough. I have had a few friends and family members try it out as well, who have gone and bought their own pair because of it. Current price is $99.99US.
