Kingston 32GB Data Traveler Micro Duo 3C Testing:

To test the Kingston 32GB Data Traveler Micro Duo 3C, I will run a series of benchmarks to provide as accurate a representation of its performance as possible. Most of these tests are synthetic in nature, but are good for comparison purposes. I will be using these tests as well as a timed file transfer test using a 1GB sized file; the same 1GB file used in our WinRar testing that is comprised of many different file types to break up any really high speed transfers. For the synthetic tests, we will run the default test for Crystal Diskmark and AS SSD, and will use the Sisoft Sandra File System IO test with the Device scoring in IOPS being the measure used to determine results.

Testing Setup: Intel Socket 1151

Applications:

  • Crystal Diskmark
  • ATTO
  • SiSoft Sandra 2015
  • AS SSD
  • File Transfer Test (Timed)

Crystal DiskMark:

Kingston Data Traveler            Patriot Supersonic XT

ATTO:

Kingston Data Traveler            Patriot Supersonic XT

AS SSD:

Kingston Data Traveler            Patriot Supersonic XT

SiSoft Sandra 2015:

File Transfer:

Looking at the performance results in each of the tests, it's clear that Kingston's engineers did their homework. Rated to deliver up to 100Mb/s read and 15Mb/s writes, the Kingston 32GB Data Traveler Micro Duo 3C over-delivered against its rated performance. It's not as fast as the Patriot drive, but is delivering all that it can in terms of read/write performance.
