Sisoft Sandra is a diagnostic utility and synthetic benchmarking program. Sandra allows you to view your hardware at a higher level to be more helpful. The value of having a quad core CPU for raw computing power just can't be overlooked. The 8400 is in the ballpark in the memory bandwidth testing, but for the most part falls behind the Quad core CPUs. This was pretty much the expected result. Overclocking helps but not enough to overcome the Quad core performance.
