Corsair M65 PRO RGB Gaming Mouse Testing Setup:

As with our other mouse reviews, we will be looking at the Corsair M65 PRO RGB Gaming Mouse from several perspectives that most users have when evaluating their next purchase. I used this mouse as my only mouse for two weeks for all of my daily tasks, including gaming, school work, and my normal workday in my home office. I used the M65 PRO both with the MM300 mousepad and without plainly on my wooden desk. I also did try my glass desk in another room, but as expected the optical sensor was not able to track on it. The areas I evaluated were comfort, how well the mouse was for gaming, and how it worked for me in my day-to-day work tasks.

Testing Setup:

Corsair M65 PRO RGB Gaming Mouse Results:

Comfort:

Of all of the mice I have tested over the years, this has to be the most comfortable one I have used to date. The aluminum material is very lightweight, but gives just enough weight to keep it from flying all over the place. I did not experience any fatigue in my hand at all during use and it was very pleasing to use for hours on end. The grippy material on the left and right side helped me keep the mouse in perfect control the whole time without it slipping out of my hands from sweat or extended use. The buttons were very well placed and I did not have to overextend my fingers to reach any of them. I never experienced any catching of the mouse on the surface during use.

Gaming Usage:

This is where the M65 PRO really shined during the testing. The preciseness of the 12,000 DPI sensor was amazing, every time I moved the mouse the reticle was on target and I can honestly say when playing games like H1Z1 King of the Kill, my gameplay improved with this bad boy. The Sniper button was amazing for lowering the DPI when needed to ensure I lined up the headshot with the sniper rifle without passing over the target and having to re-correct. The most impressive was the ability to assign the macros for quick multi-key use. The CUE software was also able to trigger keyboard keys in the macros that active when the mouse triggers it. I used the M65 for some long 8+ hours of gaming at a time and never once was I tired or frustrated from the use.

General Usage:

Just as with the gaming, the M65 PRO was a pleasure to use during long work and school sessions. The flow of the mouse over the MM300 mouse pad made long use perfect and non-painful. Just as with gaming, I was able to employ some macros that helped me complete work tasks quicker, such as alternate paste buttons with a delay for pasting code into my SSH terminal. This mouse is amazing in and out for all aspects of its use. The on-the-fly DPI adjustments made creating Visio diagrams easy with accurate placement, then allowing for the changes to move windows around.

Now that the testing is out of the way, we can offer our concluding thoughts.
