Corsair M65 PRO RGB FPS Gaming Mouse Closer Look:

The Corsair M65 PRO RGB FPS gaming mouse comes with the Corsair Utility Engine as a download from the Corsair website. CUE enables a more fine tuned setting management interface to have full control over the function and the lighting of the M65 PRO mouse. To install CUE, just download the package, which is version 1.16.42 at the time of this review, and double click the installer app. The installer will take you through the steps and when you are done, you are prompted to launch the Corsair Utility Engine interface. Simple as that and nothing else needed. The mouse itself also has a copy of the driver needed in the stored memory when plugged in, so you do not need CUE to operate it, but you do if you want to have the finer controls. Once the install is completed, if there is an update the CUE software will notify you of it.

Profiles:

The first tab that you come to when launching the CUE software is the Profiles section. In Profiles, you set some of the customization settings, such as re-defining any of the buttons that you wish, setting the lighting style for the logo and front lighting, and setting the DPI settings. For the lighting, you can set it to steady or pulse, and choose the default color. The DPI allows you to set different DPI levels that can be changed with the arrow buttons behind the mouse wheel and set an indicator color for each setting.

Actions:

The Actions tab is where you can set specific actions to be taken when buttons are pressed, such as the Macro settings. There is a macro editor that allows you to assign not just mouse clicks, but keyboard buttons to the macro actions for a finer tuned, custom experience.

Lighting:

In the Lighting section you have a more fine-tuned control over the aesthetics. You can set the colors to be solid, pulse, fade and more.

Settings:

The last tab is the Settings section, where you can set a lot of the operational settings for the M65 PRO. Here you can set the polling rate for the mouse up to 1000Hz. There are also some additional settings for the CUE software, like starting on Windows, the language, and more. Finally, there is information on how to get support, should you need it.

Now that we have the CUE software installed and ready to go, we can move on.
