Tune Up Program:

  • Geometry and Distortion
  • The Geometry and Distortion tests check to make sure the screen is positioned correctly. These tests don't really mean a lot for LCD monitors and are aimed more toward CRT monitors.

  • Sharpness and Resolution
  • These tests check single pixel details, fine image details, font tests, bandwidth, moire interference, artifact from pixel densities, horizontal and vertical intensity.

For the most part, these tests showed pretty clear results.  The moiré test would occasionally show patterns, but I would be impressed if you showed me a four hundred monitor that didn't.

  • Screen Pixel Resolution
  • Again, these tests all passed.  I was unable to notice any glitches so everything is fine.

  • Color and Grayscale
  • At this point in the testing my eyes were pretty tired, but as far as I could tell the colors were all represented correctly and there were no outstanding issues.
