It was originally developed by the Intel Corporation and announced at the Intel Developers Forum (IDF) on February 17, 1998. For performance metrics, the ADATA SX300 mSATA SSD doesn't supply very specatcular numbers, but this is most likely due to the SATA2 limitation.
