Today Valve announced a pair of apps will be launched for Android and iOS later this year, with the first launching in just a couple weeks. This first app will be the Steam Link app and will allow gamers to stream their Steam library to Android and iOS devices from their computers, over 5 GHz or wired Ethernet connections. Such devices include smartphones, tables, Apple TV, and TVs that use the operating systems. The Steam Link app will support the Steam Controller, MFI controllers, and more across both platforms.

It will be later this summer before the Steam Video app launches for Android and iOS, enabling people to watch the movies and shows available on Steam. Users will be able to watch them over Wi-Fi or LTE connections, and it will support watching content offline and in streaming modes.
