Some Manufacturers Expect Graphics Card Shipments to Fall 40% in April

For someone looking for a new graphics card, but would rather not spend potentially hundreds of dollars over the MSRP, this may be good news for you. It is being reported that three Taiwan-based graphics card manufacturers are expecting their shipments to drop 40% on the month of April. These companies are Gigabyte, MSI, and TUL and the reason is distributors and mining farm operators cutting orders for both the cards and mining motherboards. This follows a recent wane in the mining craze and the expectation of an Ethereum mining ASIC launching in Q3.

This precipitous drop in demand from miners may help other consumers purchase these cards and, as many are hoping, might bring the currently inflated prices down. The manufacturers are hoping market demand will rebound in May or June.
