Scanner Sombre Announced by Introversion Software, Releasing April 26

On Wednesday Introversion Software, the BAFTA-winning developer behind Prison Architect, is releasing its next game, Scanner Sombre. It is a "total departure" for the studio, in times of visual style and tone, according to Chris Delay, Introversion's Creative Director, while Mark Morris, Managing Director, describes it as being "a more involved, claustrophobic game distilling a deep sense of unease into a single play session." In the game you use a LIDAR scanner to explore the dark cave you have found yourself in, with the neon lights the scanner produces being your guide as you try to find your way around. Introversion lists Gone Home, Dead Esther, and Proteus as inspiration for this latest title.

For anyone curious about the game, it will be launching April 26, as in two days from now. It will cost $11.99, but have a 20% launch discount on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store.
