Thermaltake has announced a partnership with CoolChip Technologies, with the first offering of the collaboration coming in the form of the Engine 27 1U Low-Profile cooler, a member of the Engine X series. The Engine X series seeks to find a balance between size, performance, and sound level. Thermaltake CEO and Chairman Kenny Lin described the decision to partner with CoolChip, stating "We believe CoolChip’s innovative technology is revolutionary and will enable us to continue to deliver the best products for our users." He also added that the Kinetic Cooling technology from CoolChip will help Thermaltake serve users better as it is primarily focused on liquid cooling these days. CEO of CoolChip Will Sanchez also chimed in, stating "Our partnership with Thermaltake is the first step in rendering the traditional heat-sink plus-fan approach obsolete and ushering the next generation of air cooling solutions."
