Yahoo Reveals Massive Data Breach

Category: Internet
Posted: 04:04PM

Yahoo has confirmed that it was the victim of a large-scale attack that compromised data for more than 500 million users. Data that was exposed includes "names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth and, in some cases, security questions and answers" along with encrypted passwords. Yahoo believes that attack was carried out by a "state-sponsored actor" but wouldn't elaborate any further on what state it might be. The company has recommended that users who haven't changed their passwords since 2014 should do so now, but it would probably be a good idea to change it again even if you have done so recently.
