Category: Video Cards
Posted: 02:08PM

NVIDIA recently confirmed the existence of a 3GB version of the GeForce GTX 1060, and MSI has now added five cards based on this design to its lineup. The main differentiator between the cards is the cooling system used, which also has an impact on the base and boosted clock speeds. The GTX 1060 Gaming X 3G and GTX 1060 Gaming 3G use the Twin Frozr VI cooler with base clocks of 1594MHz and 1531MHz and boost clocks of 1809MHz and 1746MHz, respectively. The Twin Frozr VI is made up of large heatsink, 8mm copper heatpipes, and MSI TORX Fan 2.0. The GTX 1060 ARMOR 3G OCV1 and GTX 1060 ARMOR 3GV1 use the ARMOR 2X cooling system with base clocks of 1544MHz and 1506MHz and boost clocks of 1759MHz and 1708MHz, respectively. The ARMOR 2X uses TORX Fan technology, Advanced Airflow Control, and Zero Frozr technology to minimize noise while under low loads. The GTX 1060 3GT OC has a dual fan cooler with base clock of 1544MHz and boost clock of 1759MHz.
