Three Classic Disney Platformers Release on GOG

Today some old games have launched on GOG, which is on its own not too surprising, but these are three classic Disney platformers: Disney Aladdin, Disney The Lion King, and Disney The Jungle Book. These games date back to the 16-bit era, but have been carefully updated for modern hardware and operating systems, without compromising the original experience some of us had so many years ago. (Personally I can remember playing both Disney Aladdin and Disney The Lion King.)

The three games will have a price of $9.99, but are all on sale for $8.99 until August 8. The bundle of all three though is just $19.99 until this launch-sale ends. All three games also come with commemorative 16-bit poster art as part of their "Free Goodies."

By the way, Disney The Lion King led to the creation of DirectX by Microsoft. At the time it launched, the game used the WinG API, but not all computers supported it, including some the game came with, causing the game to crash when loading. To keep game developers from turning away from the Windows platform, DirectX was created to give them the hardware/software compatibility they needed. There's a little computer history for you.
