Arkane Studios Revives Prey

E3 is typically a time for the unexpected, and Bethesda delivered in that regard. First we got Quake Champions and then we get something perhaps no one expected to ever appear again: Prey. This isn't id Software at the helm, however, as Arkane Studios, the same team responsible for the Dishonored series, is handling Prey. The original Prey came out in 2006 and then news of a sequel in 2011. However, nothing happened with it and then it was formally canceled in 2014. Now, it seems Prey is back, with Arkane's take on it being a full-on reboot of the series. The trailer showed something that bore almost no similarities to the original game, instead giving us something a little more of a Total Recall/Blade Runner mashup that looks positively inviting, what with the fighting and the mystery of who you really are. Of course, looks can be deceiving, but so far, Prey is one to keep an eye on. Plus, Chris Avellone is working on it, so the story should be rather enticing.

No solid release date for Prey was announced at the conference, other than sometime in 2017. It'll arrive on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
