Fallout 4 Patch Disables Mod Support

Category: Gaming
Posted: 04:14PM

The ability to use game mods has long been a popular feature of games from Bethesda, with both The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series benefiting from the efforts of the community. Fallout 4 players have had access to mod support since the game was released, but it appears that the first official update to the game, Patch 1.2, has broken this support. Gamers have found a pair of workarounds to re-enable mod support with little effort and perhaps a bit of inconvenience. The first method involves setting a file named plugins.txt to read-only while playing, but this fix requires the user to remove the read-only restriction to set the mods they wish to use. Another fix requires the use of Nexus Mod Manager and the full procedure can be found by following the link below.
