Bethesda Reveals Plans for Fallout 4 Free Updates, Creation Kit, and Season Pass

Just about two months remain for us to get our hands on Fallout 4, with many people no doubt planning how they'll spend their time in the wasteland around Boston. Bethesda is keeping plenty of information about the game under wraps, but did reveal some of it today. For starters, a whole bunch of free updates are planned for Fallout 4 to expand what's already in the game. Bethesda mentioned how Skyrim received free updates adding in more kill cams, mounted combat, legendary mode, and others, and plans to do the same types of things for Fallout 4. Those are all in addition to patches, bug fixes, and tweaks, which is just good to have.

The new Creation Kit is expected to arrive early next year on PC, allowing modders to really delve the depths of Fallout 4 with new content. Given the sheer variety of content created for past Bethesda games, expect everything you can possibly think of and beyond with mods. The mods will transistion into the Xbox One version of Fallout 4 after PC, with the PlayStation 4 receiving them after that.

In addition to the free ways to expand your game, Bethesda is planning its first ever Season Pass for Fallout 4. The Season Pass is priced at $30, much like others, and will include all the DLC Bethesda has planned for the game. Right now there's no information on what to expect for Fallout 4, but Bethesda did say the DLC will arrive sometime early next year. Presumably after the Creation Kit, so hopefully that information is known not long after launch.

Fallout 4 arrives November 10 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
