Seagate has issued a patch for several models of wireless Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices to address multiple vulnerabilities that granted undesired access to the drives. The exploits were "confirmed to exist with firmware versions 2.2.0.005 to 2.3.0.014," and impacted drives from the Seagate and LaCie product lines. The vulnerabilities were reported by Tangible Security in March and Seagate has recommended users to upgrade to patch 3.4.1.105 to address the issues. A total of three exploits were discovered that gave unauthorized access to download files from the device, upload malicious files to the device, or gain root access using a default user name and hard coded password.
